What to expect from a physiotherapy session

Veterinary physiotherapy is an evidence-based profession that uses a physical approach to treating disease or injury upon veterinary referral.

Manual therapies are used throughout the treatment of your animal, where the therapist uses their hands to provide relaxation and pain relief and/or improve joint mobility.

Techniques may include:

  • Massage

  • Passive range of motion

  • Stretching

  • Myofascial release

  • Joint mobilisation

  • Trigger point release

Therapeutic exercise is crucial to help get your animal back to how they used to be, following injury, surgery or disease. Exercises prescribed will be tailored towards your animals' needs.

They will aim to:

  • Improve locomotion

  • Improve coordination and balance

  • Improve range of motion

  • Improve posture and strength

We also offer home management advice and nutritional advice to further improve your animals health and wellbeing.
